Building Material Sales and Estimating – Alexandria, Ottertail and Park Rapids

The purpose of this position is to prepare priced material lists for construction projects and interact with customer to sell building materials.  The list must be accurate in quantity and prices must be competitive.  The person in this position must be knowledgeable of materials used in building to sell and properly complete the estimate.  Computer, math, follow-up, attention to detail, organized and highly developed interpersonal skills are skills that the person either has, or needs to develop in order to be successful. 

Estimating – Alexandria, Ottertail and Park Rapids

Front Counter Sales – Alexandria

The purpose of this position is to provide service to walk-in or call-in customers who want to place orders or purchase in stock items.  This person answers questions, offers advice, record sales, answer phones, accepts payment and takes special orders for non-stock items. It is preferred this person has knowledge of hardware and building materials and the ability to gain and retain knowledge. Computer, math, interpersonal skills and the ability to offer outstanding customer service is essential to this position. Experience with inventory, ordering, and merchandising would be beneficial.

Yard/Delivery – Alexandria, Ottertail and Park Rapids

The main purpose of this position is to perform multiple tasks associated with the receipt, storage and delivery of products related to the building trade at Hilltop Lumber.  The person in this position must be able to drive truck, operate the forklift and be familiar with the use of small power tools normally used in carpentry.  Reading, math, interpersonal communication skills and the ability to lift heavy, bulky objects are required. Class A or B drivers license is preferred.
