Recently spotlighted in Lake and Home Magazine, the Rustvang home stands as a stunning lakeside retreat on Ottertail Lake’s north shore. Hilltop Lumber was honored to collaborate with homeowners Joan and Jon Rustvang on this special project, supplying a wide range of materials, including flooring, siding, shingles, windows, doors, and millwork.
The Rustvangs purchased the property in 2015, initially intending to remodel the existing structure. However, they soon realized they needed more space and decided to create a brand-new home—one that truly matched their vision. To bring their dream home to life, the Rustvangs teamed up with Two and Two Builders from Henning, who recommended Hilltop Lumber for the project. Through this connection, they were introduced to Eric Doll, salesman at our Ottertail location.
With Eric’s guidance and support from our drafting department, Joan and Jon worked through each design element to create a home that suited both their needs and their budget. “We wanted to make sure we could provide them with a floor plan that fit their vision for a lake home within their established budget,” says Eric. The project was a collaborative process focused on selecting the right materials to bring the Rustvangs’ dream to reality.
Hilltop Lumber is grateful to have been a part of the Rustvangs’ journey to building their ideal lake home. Thank you, Joan and Jon, for choosing us to help make your vision come to life!
