Hilltop Lumber is hiring a dedicated Sales/Estimator to join our team! In this position, your primary role will be to build strong relationships with contractors and homeowners while providing expert assistance in selecting the right building materials for their projects. You will prepare detailed, competitively priced material lists and ensure that the products meet the unique needs of each project. This role emphasizes customer service, making sure that every interaction with our clients is helpful, professional, and tailored to their specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for contractors and homeowners, guiding them through the material selection process for construction projects.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive material estimates based on project needs and customer budgets.
  • Educate customers on various building materials, helping them make informed decisions that best suit their project goals.
  • Provide personalized service, answering questions and addressing concerns about product availability, pricing, and delivery.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through consistent follow-up and exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure that their material orders are correct and meet the demands of their construction timeline.
  • Stay informed about the latest building products and industry trends to offer knowledgeable recommendations.
  • Use computer systems to manage quotes, track orders, and keep records of client interactions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Customer Focus: Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build rapport with contractors and homeowners.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of building materials and how they are used in construction projects.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure material lists are accurate in quantity and pricing to avoid project delays.
  • Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple projects and customer accounts with efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to offer solutions that meet both the customer’s needs and budget.
  • Computer & Math Proficiency: Comfortable using technology to prepare estimates and track orders while maintaining accuracy in calculations.
  • Follow-Up: Proactive in maintaining communication with clients to provide updates and ensure satisfaction.
