Designed with Purpose from the Start
Every great home starts with a strong plan. Hilltop Lumber’s in-house drafting team played a key role in shaping this cabin from the ground up. Architectural draftsman Chris Rausch designed a layout that balances function, simplicity, and style. Hilltop salesperson Taylor Krause also supported the project, helping guide product selections and ensure a smooth process from start to finish.
Bold Exterior with Lasting Performance
The exterior makes a strong first impression. LP® SmartSide® ExpertFinish® siding in Abyss Black gives the cabin a bold, modern look. The 16” on-center board and batten profile adds depth and texture without feeling overdone.
A black 16” steel standing seam roof from Dakota Steel enhances the clean lines of the home. It also offers long-term durability and low maintenance, which is ideal for lakeside conditions. Black Marvin Essential™ windows complete the exterior. They frame the lake views and fill the home with natural light while maintaining a crisp, modern edge.
Warm, Thoughtful Interior Finishes
Inside, the design softens. Custom white oak interior doors and trim from Bayer Built Woodworks bring warmth and natural character into the space. Each piece was prefinished to match the cabinetry, creating a cohesive look throughout.
Shiplap ceilings, finished by the homeowner, add subtle texture and charm. These details balance the darker exterior and help the home feel inviting and lived-in.
