What started as a major remodel turned into the ultimate game-day retreat, and a perfect example of western charm meets modern design. The project featured an update to the existing home and a brand-new addition designed for entertaining.
Bringing this vision to life was a true team effort. Stacy Klimek of Klimek Construction led the build, with materials supplied by Hilltop Lumber. Kenny Klimek served as the salesperson on the project, and Allison Halvorson provided interior design expertise for the cabinetry and countertops.
This project beautifully blends two distinct styles under one roof. The main home captures a western-cowgirl aesthetic with warm tones, rustic accents, and plenty of personality with decor that celebrates a love for the western lifestyle. The new addition brings in a sports-bar vibe, creating the perfect mix of cozy charm and bold energy. Exterior Finishes
From the exterior to the interior finishes, every choice enhances that balance of rustic warmth and modern sophistication. The homeowners selected Marvin Essential black windows and a Marvin Modern multi-slide patio door with motorized operation, giving the home a contemporary look while filling the space with natural light.
Outside, the home features LP® SmartSide® and Diamond Kote® siding in Onyx paired with Versetta Stone ledgestone in Sterling for a bold, timeless contrast. CertainTeed Landmark shingles in Moire Black complete the cohesive design, tying everything together from top to bottom.
The outdoor spaces continue the look, featuring Millboard decking in Weathered Oak — used creatively in the post wraps, siding, open soffit construction, and gable decoration for a one-of-a-kind appearance that’s both durable and beautiful.
Interior Charm
Inside, warmth and texture take center stage with Bayer Built Knotty Alder doors in a clear finish. The Countryside Cabinets in rustic hickory with a Wheat stain and Kenley raised panel door bring timeless character to the home. Complementing them are Cambria quartz countertops in the Woodcroft color, adding a refined contrast to the rich wood tones. In the bathrooms, The Onyx Collection vanity tops in the Constellation color with Venetian bowls offer a smooth, polished finish that ties the look together. A Versetta Stone fireplace adds a striking, textured focal point in the living space, perfectly blending with the home’s western-modern style.
Bar Addition
The addition’s bar area — a true centerpiece of the project — creates a welcoming space for entertaining, celebrating, and relaxing. The Marvin Modern multi-slide patio door spans nearly the entire wall, opening the room to the outdoors and making a bold architectural statement. From hosting game-day gatherings to casual evenings with friends, this remodel perfectly embodies the spirit of where western charm meets modern design.
